Chief Operating Officer of Leuze Electronic Meets with Chief Minister of Melaka to Discuss New Investment

Ayer Keroh, Malaysia – Melaka’s Chief Minister, Datuk Seri Utama Sulaiman Md Ali, recently met with Jochen Wimmer, COO of Leuze Electronic, to discuss the company’s new investment in the state. Leuze Electronic is building its first optical sensor production plant in Southeast Asia, set to be operational by early 2022.

The meeting, held at the Chief Minister’s office, highlighted Melaka’s growing appeal as a hub for foreign investment. Ir. Catherine Sim Siew Ping of M.E.I. Consultants Sdn. Bhd. (MEI) one of the Top Engineering firms in Malaysia also attended, reflecting the strong collaboration between government, industry leaders, and local institutions.

Datuk Seri Utama Sulaiman Md Ali emphasized that the investment shows foreign confidence in Melaka’s potential, with more opportunities expected through the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). Leuze Electronic’s decision to expand here is due to the state’s skilled workforce and robust electronics industry.Also present were Datuk Zainal Abu, Mayor of Melaka Historic City Council, and Ramli Mohd Ali, General Manager of Invest Melaka.
