(MEI), a leading Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Management (EPCM) firm based in Penang, Malaysia, is thrilled to announce the successful acquisition of a prestigious contract from the Penang Development Corporation (PDC). The project entails the construction of a 9-storey office building and a multi-storey car park, collectively known as GBS by the Sea. The office building boasts a total built-up area exceeding 400,000 square feet and will accommodate 830 parking spaces.
GBS by the Sea is set to host three renowned tenants: the global tech giant AMD, Celestica, and another leading American tech company. This development is anticipated to generate between 2,000 to 3,000 job opportunities, significantly contributing to the local economy.
MEI takes great pride in its commitment to safety and excellence. The project has already achieved significant safety milestones, recording 250,000 safe man-hours on November 30, 2023, and celebrating the remarkable achievement of 1 million safe man-hours on July 16, 2024.
